Jeanette Pohlen scored 19 points and Kayla Pedersen added 17 to lead No. 3 Stanford to a 78-64 victory over host USC on Friday night. The Cardinal won their 51st consecutive Pac-10 game and earned a bye into the semifinals of next month's conference tournament.

Stanford routed the Trojans 95-51 last month, but USC kept it close this time and trailed by only two at halftime. The Cardinal opened the second half with a 12-2 run to take a 50-38 lead, but the run came at a price.


Nneka Ogwumike left the game with a sprained right ankle early in the second half.
She gave the Cardinal a 48-38 lead with a layup but landed awkwardly and had to be helped off the court.

#9 UCLA 63, Cal 48: Rebekah Gardner scored 16 points as the host Bruins collected their seventh consecutive victory. The Bruins pulled away with a 13-2 run midway through the second half. UCLA is unbeaten in its last 13 conference games at Pauley.

Eliza Pierre led Cal with 12 points, while Talia Caldwell and Lindsay Sherbert each had 10. The Bears dropped their fourth straight game. VanDerveer up for Hall: Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer was among 12 finalists announced Friday for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame. VanDerveer has led the Cardinal to two NCAA championships and 18 Pac-10 titles.
